Chittoor Police have registered a case against a YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) activist for posting defamatory post against Minister for IT Nara Lokesh.

Superintendent of Police V. N. Manikanta Chandolu said the YSRCP activist, Krishnaveni, on Wednesday posted a morphed picture of Mr. Lokesh and posted objectionable content which are detrimental to the law and order. The SP said Srinivasa Babu of Chittoor lodged a complaint with the I Town police against the social media post.

Chittoor I Town police registered a case under various Sections of BNS and IT Act. On the occasion, the SP asked people to use social media platforms responsibly and not to hurt others sentiments. “People should be responsible while using social media. One should not humiliate or make derogatory remarks against others. Social media should not be used to spread hatred against any religion, caste or region. No one will be spared, if they cross the line and resort to defame or instigate others,” Mr. Manikanta Chandolu said.
