Former Union Minister P.C. Thomas served a legal notice on Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar for his criticism of the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Tamil Nadu Governor case.

The reported statements of the Governor that the Supreme Court ruling setting a time-frame for governors to deal with bills cleared by the legislature was an overreach amounted to Contempt of Court.

Mr. Thomas said he would initiate Contempt of Court proceedings against the Governor if he failed to reply to the notice within seven days.
