The Delhi government is committed to providing all basic amenities to slum residents and has allocated funds worth ₹700 crore to the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) for the comprehensive development of slums, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Tuesday (April 8, 2025).
During a visit to her constituency Shalimar Bagh, where she inaugurated several development projects, the Chief Minister slammed the previous governments for neglecting and using slum dwellers merely as vote banks.
The Delhi government is preparing to allot 52,000, she said. Speaking to the media after her visit, Ms. Gupta said the government was preparing to allot 52,000 flats to slum dwellers in the city, asserting that “acche din” (good days) for slum dwellers have come after years. With inputs from PTI
