The State government is committed to the development of Muslim minorities, said Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy during a recent Iftar dinner at Singarayakonda town in Prakasam district.

“After coming to power, the coalition government has been repairing mosques and ‘Shaadi Khanas’ across the State. In the latest Budget, ₹5,434 crore has been allocated for minority welfare and ₹14 crore for Haj piligrimage,” the Minister said.

At another Iftar dinner in Nellore, Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy said that the State government will develop all the mosques. “In SPSR Nellore district alone, ₹3.96 crore has been sanctioned to 441 mosques and ₹66.15 crore was given as honorarium to 882 Muslim scholars,” Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy added.

“The State government is committed to the development of minorities in all aspects. It has released funds for Iftar dinners across the State. It is constantly working to provide better education and employment opportunities to Muslims along with social welfare schemes,” he said.

Meanwhile, Municipal Administration Minister Ponguru Narayana said that the coalition government will stand with the Muslim minorities. “In 2014-19, Bara Shaheed Dargah was developed and Shaadi Manzil was constructed in 43rd division for the welfare of poor Muslims,” the Minister said.

“After coming back to power, we are constructing another Shaadi Manzil in 54th division with an estimated cost of ₹99 lakh funded by Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy. I will never forget the support given by the Muslim minorities for my victory in the elections,” he added.

According to the ministers, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has introduced many schemes for the welfare of Muslims. The State government has started giving monthly honorarium to 5,000 Imams and Meujjins.
