Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao has questioned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s moral authority to feel bad about his family being dragged into politics, while accusing him of adopting the same while in the Opposition.

Speaking in the Assembly on Thursday, KTR said his family, including minor children, were used for political mudslinging. “Wasn’t it the Chief Minister who used filthy language against our minor children?” he asked . The BRS leader also advised the Chief Minister not be impatient as it doesn’t suit a Chief Minister.

KTR challenged the government’s revenue claims, saying that they boasted investments poured in like a flood at [World Economic Forum] Davos and claimed welfare is outstanding. “Then why did the Chief Minister say the State’s revenue dropped by ₹71,000 crore?“ he asked seeking an explanation from the Chief Minister.

“The Chief Minister talks of tenders worth ₹20,000 crore for HMDA, ₹7,000 crore for GHMC, ₹14,000 crore for water works, ₹4,400 crore for Kodangal lift irrigation, and ₹5,000 crore for a 10-lane road in the Future City. They talk of beautifying the Musi with ₹1.5 lakh crore. Where are these funds coming from?”

Targeting the Union Government, KTR criticised the Centre’s conditional funding, which he claimed was going to the States that obey the Centre. He said, “If we don’t fight, the Centre won’t listen to us. We will come together,” while offering all the support to the State government.
