Minister of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) P.K. Sekar Babu launched a ‘Manjappai’ or yellow cloth bag vending machine under the “Return Waste, Get Benefits” scheme at the Perambur Park Gate in Ward 73 of Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar Zone (VI) on Wednesday (March 26, 2025).

The vending machine, donated by a private firm dispenses reusable yellow cloth bags in exchange for recyclable waste, a release said. Chennai Mayor R. Priya, elected representatives, and Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) officials attended the event.
