The Rajaji Nagar police are on the lookout for a woman who allegedly misbehaved with a traffic policeman and was later on the run after removing the wheel clamp from a car locked by the police after she was found using a defective silencer on March 18.

Based on a complaint by Murali S.R., attached to Rajaji Nagar traffic police station, the police on March 23 charged the unknown woman for theft, criminal intimidation and intentional insult.

The complainant, who was on patrolling duty, received a complaint online about a car with a defective silencer causing noise pollution.

Mr. Murali located the car, which was parked on 3rd block, 50th cross, haphazardly, partly on the footpath and partly on the road, which was already congested.

Mr. Murali located the owner, Suraj R., through the registration number, and called him on phone. The call was received by a woman who allegedly started warned Mr. Murali not to take any action.

Mr. Murali told her to get in touch with him. He put a wheel clamp and left the spot. The woman reportedly called a mechanic and replaced the wheel.

When Mr. Murali called the number again, the woman allegedly misbehaved and threatened him with dire consequences stating that she would book a case against him and also get him suspended.

A few hours later, when Mr. Murali returned to the spot, the car was missing, and so was the clamp. He checked CCTV footage before reporting to his seniors .

Taking cognisance of the incident, the police decided to take legal action against the woman .
