Officials of the Enforcement Bureau (CID), Tamil Nadu on Thursday seized 312 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) smuggled from Puducherry into Villupuram district.

Based on a tip-off, a team intercepted a van bound to Chennai near the Perumbakkam check-post. On searching the van, the team found a hidden chamber for concealing contrabands. The officials seized 312 bottles of liquor and arrested the driver.

Officials said the contraband was being smuggled to Chennai. Special teams have been formed to nab the main offender who has been absconding.
