Free cardiac and ophthalmology camps will be organised by SASTRA, deemed to be a university, in Thanjavur and Kumbakonam.

According to a SASTRA release, these camps are being organised in memory of the institution’s founder Ramachandra Iyer in association with a team of doctors from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Porur, Chennai, on March 29 on the university’s Thirumalaisamudhram campus near Thanjavur and on March 30 at Kumbakonam.

Specific baseline blood tests, ECGs, and echocardiograms, as well as certain tablets, will be provided at no cost to the patients who are not government employees and their wards. The patients willing to avail the free medical service have to register their names and other details by sending SMS to 9443904515 (for Thirumalaisamudhram camp) and 9942131186 (for Kumbakonam camp), the release added.
