Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that he was responsible for the defeat of his Telugu Desam Party in the past, since he did not focus much on the party activities as required. “I am responsible for my defeat in the past elections and nobody defeated me,” Mr. Naidu said.

The TDP president said he had given much priority to public service and in that process had not paid attention to strengthening the party and cadre.

Mr. Naidu reacted in the Assembly on Monday to a question raised by TDP MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, who asked during a discussion on Swarna Andhra Vision 2047, that despite developing Hyderabad as a global destination, enhancing the budget from ₹3,000 crore in 1995-96 in the united A.P. to about ₹5 lakh crore by 2025-26 in the two Telugu States, why did he lose the general elections in the past.

The Chief Minister said that this time he would focus on the party as well and give priority to the cadre, while striving to achieve the targets of the Vision 2047.
