Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan has urged the State government to restore scholarships for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, which, according to him, were slashed by the government.

The cut in scholarships was an injustice meted out to the marginalised communities. Scholarships shall be fully restored and distributed in a time-bound manner, he said while inaugurating a convention organised by the United Democratic Front (UDF).

UDF leaders M.M. Hassan and P.M.A. Salam and MLAs Mons Joseph, Roji M. John, Anwar Sadath, T.J. Vinod, and Anoop Jacob and Jebi Mather MP, were among those who attended.
