A delegation of cooperative experts from Zambia was apprised of the activities of cooperative banks in Rajasthan and their contribution to welfare measures in the rural areas. The primary cooperative land development banks in the State are at present recovering outstanding loans of non-agricultural sector as part of a four-month-long action plan.
The four-member Zambian delegation, which visited the Jaipur Central Cooperative Bank and other institutions, witnessed the activities for making various cooperative schemes accessible to the public at large. The delegation members were informed about the work being done to make the cooperative movement effective and meaningful.
The delegation members praised the works taken up under the ‘Sahakar Se Samriddhi’ (prosperity through cooperatives) programme. Other institutions visited by the Zambian delegation included the Apex Bank, Beelwa village cooperative society, and Bad Ke Balaji primary milk producers’ cooperative society.
Jaipur Central Cooperative Bank’s Managing Director Dinesh Kumar Sharma said the visit was organised as part of year-long activities taken up in 2025 to mark the International Year of Cooperatives declared by the United Nations with the theme, ‘Cooperatives build a better world’.
The primary cooperative land development banks in the State have launched action for recovery of outstanding loans of non-agricultural sector. A four-month-long action plan prepared for the purpose is aimed at improving the financial condition of these banks and ensuring their effective functioning.
