Mahila Chetana has demanded a thorough probe into the death of a woman NRI, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a hotel, near Asilametta, here, on March 6.
Addressing a media conference, on Monday, Mahila Chetana general secretary K. Padma said that there were many loose ends in the case. The Three Town police, who had booked a case, had failed to inform the media. It was reported that P. Sridhar, an NRI living in the USA, had come to the city and put up at the said hotel.
The victim, who was also an NRI, went to meet Dr. Sridhar in his room. Ms. Padma wondered why the police had taken the complaint from the hotel manager, instead of the doctor, who was staying in the room. She alleged that the police had written in the FIR that there was ‘no accused’ in the case even before getting the postmortem report.
She demanded that the Police Commissioner should order an inquiry into the action of the police personnel, which was giving rise to suspicion.
