Woman externed under KAAPA in Kannur

In a major crackdown on drug-related offences, the Kannur City police have invoked the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act (KAAPA) against 27-year-old Fathiba Habiba of Thalassery. She has been externed from Kannur following multiple cases registered against her.

According to officials, Habiba is accused in multiple drug-related cases, including one at the Kannur Women’s Police Station and two narcotic drug cases at the Kannur Range Excise Station. Acting on a report submitted by the District Police Chief (Kannur City), Kannur Range DIG Yathish Chandra has imposed a one-year ban preventing her from entering the district.

The authorities warned that violating the order could result in imprisonment for up to three years.
