School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi inaugurated the Chennai Literary Festival in Kancheepuram on Friday. After inaugurating the two-day literary festival, the Minister said that the festival was held to promote the Tamil language across the State.

Mr. Poyyamozhi said while the State is moving forward with the unique two-language policy, imposing a third language in Tamil Nadu would never succeed. He said that the State government was not stopping the students from studying any language they prefer as it is their freedom to study, but the Central government should not impose Hindi on students in Tamil Nadu.

Kancheepuram district Collector Kalaiselvi Mohan, Kancheepuram Member of Parliament G. Selvam and Kancheepuram MLA C.V.M.P. Ezhilarasan participated in the inauguration function.
