Vizianagaram district bank employees’ coordination committee president B.V. Prasad and secretary K. Murali Srinivas asked the government and public sector bank managements to shun outsourcing policies and recruit adequate number of employees to strengthen the public sector banking system in the country.

With the call given by the United Forum for Bank Unions, the employees staged a protest on Friday evening near the main branch of the State Bank of India.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prasad said that the managements had put additional work burden and deferred implementation of five-day workweek policy promised years ago. He said the bank staff would observe a two-day strike, on March 24 and 25, if there was no response for the representation given by the employees’ unions.
