Commuters in a part of Hyderabad would come across traffic diversions for the coming two months as pipeline replacement work begins in the Shapur Nagar area. The extensive project involves the laying and replacement of a damaged 1200 mm diameter PSC pipeline with a newly fabricated MS pipeline from Sri Sai Weigh Bridge to Ranga Bhujanga Theatre.

The diversions will remain in effect for a period of 60 days from March 6 onwards. In a bid to ensure smoother traffic movement and minimise congestion, the Cyberabad traffic police announced alternative routes for commuters.

Traffic diversions

Traffic moving from Subash Nagar towards Bahadurpally – Gandimaisamma will be diverted at Sai Kanta Junction, taking a right turn through Jeedimetla Industrial Area, proceeding towards JETL Kaman, then onto the main road leading to Suraram. Vehicles travelling in the opposite direction, from Gandimaisamma towards Subash Nagar, will be rerouted at JETL Kaman with a right turn through the industrial area.

Motorists heading from Subash Nagar towards Balanagar will need to take a diversion at Sai Kanta Junction, turning left towards Chinthal and continuing through IDPL. Conversely, those travelling from Balanagar towards Subash Nagar will have to take a U-turn near Sana Bawarchi Hotel and proceed towards Sai Kanta before reaching their destination. With congestion expected on affected roads, residents and daily travellers were advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
