As Dharwad gets ready to host Kaushalya Rozgar Job Mela on Karnatak College campus on Sunday, preparations to hold the mega employment fair are going on in full swing. And, already, 5,000 job aspirants have registered for the event.
Speaking to media persons after visiting the Karnatak College campus in Dharwad on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu G.R.J. said that so far, 65 industries and 25 human resource agencies have registered to participate in the job fair.
She said that the companies have expressed their requirement for 3,000 skilled employees from various educational backgrounds and have assured job opportunities.
The registration process for the job fair began on February 25 and till date, 5,000 job-seekers have registered online. The last date for online registration is Friday.
The Deputy Commissioner clarified that job aspirants can also make spot registrations on the day of the job fair. The job fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m..
Ms. Divya Prabhu said that the requisite facilities for attendees, including students, are being made and the interviews will be conducted across multiple venues within the college campus, including the Tourism Department and the Dr. V.K. Gokak Library.
“Interview rooms have been arranged for ITI, Diploma, SSLC and PU candidates. Engineering and postgraduate degree holders will have dedicated interview rooms,” she said.
“Special rooms have been designated for differently-abled candidates. Around 20-25 help desks will be set up to guide job-seekers with necessary information. As several industries, including garment and manufacturing sectors, are participating, candidates with different educational qualifications will have opportunities,” she said.
“Companies will also conduct counseling sessions to provide information on job roles, salaries and other employment-related topics”, she explained.
Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat Bhuvanesh Patil said that announcement boards and loudspeakers will be used to give necessary information to the participants.
Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar said that necessary traffic and parking arrangements will be made to ensure that there is no congestion around the venue.
