The 198th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has constructed a washing point, provided a 1000 litre water tank and installed pipe connections at the GTWPM College (Girls) Hostel in G. Madugula of the Alluri Sitarama Raju district.
The CRPF Battalion made the significant contribution for improving the lives of the students on a request from the hostel administration. With this, more than 150 tribal girls residing in the hostel had got access to clean water.
The students used to face difficulties due to the lack of essential water facilities. “Recognizing the seriousness and urgency of the situation, our personnel went beyond their regular duties to address these critical needs with dedication and commitment,” Commandant of 198 Battalion Rajesh Pandey said.
The CRPF personnel constructed a basement to house the water tank and also a bathing tank, installed a pipe connection to pump water, a 1,000 litre water tank for water storage and also hangers with pipes for drying clothes.
Further, as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign, the CRPF team conducted a thorough cleaning drive across the entire college and hostel premises.
“This initiative highlights the CRPF’s ongoing commitment to promoting community welfare and ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for students. The CRPF remains dedicated to supporting educational institutions, particularly those serving tribal communities, and continues to contribute positively to society beyond its core security responsibilities,” Mr Rajesh Pandey said.
