Officers from Keshwapur Police Station in Hubballi arrested a repeat offender on the charge of murder in Hubballi on Sunday.

He has 36 pending cases against him in various police stations in three districts related to murder, attempt to murder, robbery, house break-in theft and narcotics offences.

Manjunath Krishnappa Bhandari, alias Scientist Manjya, and two others were arrested on the charge of attempting to murder Abdul Khadar Kundgol on Saturday.

Scientist Manjya, his wife Malla, and daughter Muskan, were picked up by a team of officers.

The victim filed a complaint that the three accused forcibly entered his house and threatened him with his life.

The complainant and the accused are related through matrimony. They had a minor dispute that led to major differences, the police said.

The accused had been arrested earlier but was out on bail. He had evaded arrest later, the police said.
