The doors of the historic Hasanamba Temple were opened on Thursday (October 9, 2025) to mark the inauguration of Hasanamba Jatra Mahotsava, in the presence of Revenue Minister Krishna Byregowda, elected representatives and senior officers.

Devotees get an opportunity to have darshana of the deity only during the festival. The rest of the days in a year, the temple remains closed. Lakhs of devotees are expected to visit the temple during the festival, which concludes on October 23.

The officers of the Revenue Department opened the doors of the Muzrai Temple after conducting the traditional customs and rituals. The deity is represented by a cluster of three anthills. A team of priests, appointed to handle the customs as per the traditions, decorated the deity with ornaments.

Mr. Krishna Byregowda, who is also minister in-charge of Hassan district, inspected the arrangements made by the district administration for the devotees on the temple premises. He instructed officers to ensure a smooth flow of devotees by maintaining queue. The public will be allowed to visit the temple from October 10 morning.

This time, the administration has streamlined the entry of VIPs and golden pass holders so that the public need not to wait for long hours in the queue. The VIPs and pass holders would visit the temple for a fixed duration in the day.

MLA K.M. Shivalinge Gowda, Deputy Commissioner K.S. Lathakumari, SP Mohammed Sujeetha and other officials were present at the time of opening the temple doors.
