Avadi Police Commissioner K. Shankar on Friday inaugurated three police outposts to improve policing in localities that are far from existing police stations.

According to a press release, the outposts will provide the public easy access to the police and enable round-the-clock policing in these areas. The outposts will function at ICF Colony in T-2 Ambattur Estate police station limits, Water Canal Road in T-3 Korattur police station limits, and near Velammal College, Surapet, in T-4 Pudur.

Two sub-inspectors will be deputed to the outposts from the police stations concerned. According to the release, petitions will be received from the public at the outposts and community service receipts will be issued. Any grievances will be duly heard and redressed. The outposts will function round the clock, the release added.
