A 14-year-old boy died of electrocution at Devarpatti village in Aranthangi police station limits on Sunday. The police gave the name of the victim as M. Selvakannan, a Class VIII student of government boys school at Silattur. The boy had been staying in the house of his mother’s elder sister and studying.

He was playing near his house in the morning when he came in contact with the fence which was touching the stay wire of an electricity post and suffered electric shock. He died on the way to the Government Hospital, Aranthangi. The Aranthangi police are investigating.
