A 44-year-old man was arrested by Paramakudi Town police for hurling a footwear towards a Judicial Magistrate at Paramakudi court on Monday. 

Police, who identified the accused as A. Ramesh Babu, said he entered the court room and hurled his footwear towards JM Pandi Maharaja.  Though it fell on the advocates, who were present before the JM, police were immediately alerted and they took the accused away from the court hall.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the accused was living with his mother for the past few months and he was treated for mental illness. He was arrested and booked under various sections.
