Ramanathapuram district police arrested a man in connection with the murder of a load man at Paramakudi here on Sunday.  

Chithirai Kannan, 48, of Paramakudi, while walking at Boarding Street on Saturday, was chased by a man on bike. As he tried to escape, he was chased and killed by the man.  

As Paramakudi police registered a case and started their investigation, they arrested Arun Kumar, 28, of Angu Nagar, Paramakudi.  

Police said that Chithirai Kannan had borrowed ₹1 lakh from Arun Kumar. As Arun Kumar asked him to return the money, Chithirai Kannan abused the former’s mother.  

Arun Kumar angered by his abuse, killed Chithirai Kannan, police said.
