A tourist from Bengaluru died after drowning at Abbi falls at Yadur in Karnataka’s Hosanagar taluk on Sunday.

Ramesh, 44, a resident of Nagarbhavi in Bengaluru, slipped and fell into the waterfall as he failed to maintain balance on a rocky surface at the spot. He had gone for a trip to the place with his friends.

The waterfall has gained vigour due to heavy rains in the region. A video clip showing Mr. Ramesh at the waterfall has gone viral.

His body was found later, and the Hosanagar police have registered a case.
