Case registered against temple office-bearers in Kasaragod for bursting firecrackers without permission

A case has been registered against the office-bearers of a temple in the district on charge of bursting firecrackers without the requisite permission.

An officer of the Kumbala police station said the first information report (FIR) under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was lodged on Friday against the president, secretary, and some festival committee members of the Kanipura Sri Gopalakrishna Temple.

The firecrackers were burst on Friday (January 17) night as part of the temple festival, the police said.

According to the FIR, the crackers were burst in a careless manner which posed danger to people who came to take part in the festival.
