The Kalaburagi district Excise Department has earned a revenue of ₹4,416.36 crore in the last one-and-a-half year period (2024-25 and 2025-26 till June).

As per the data provided by Excise Department, the district has generated revenue of ₹4,416.36 crore from liquor sale through retail outlets, bars and restaurants in the last 18 months. Of the total revenue ₹4,416.36, a sum of ₹ 4,373.45 crore was collected through excise duty, ₹40.77 crore from license fee, and ₹2.14 crore in fines.

Through the Karnataka State Beverages Corporation Limited (KSBCL) unit, the district sold 19.65 lakh liquor cases and 14 lakh beer cases in 2024, and 19.76 liquor cases and 14.36 beer cases up to June 2025.

54,351 litres liquor, 1,872 litres toddy, 8.08 kg ganja seized

In the last two years, officials have registered 2,173 cases and confiscated 4,843 litres of illicit liquor, 10,363 litres of unauthorised liquor, 38,182 litres of beers, 963 litres of liquor transported from neighbouring States, 1,872 litres of toddy. They have also seized 8.08 kilograms of ganja and 131 vehicles used in the transportation.

As Kalaburagi district shares a border with Telangana and Maharashtra States, excise inquiry offices have been established in Khajuri village in Aland taluk, Ribbanpalli village in Sedam taluk and Konchavaram village in Chincholi taluk to prevent illegal transportation of alcohol and narcotics.
