Plea to operate Vande Bharat Express to Thiruvananthapuram and Mangalore

Expectations have increased over introduction of Vande Bharat Express from Coimbatore to Thiruvananthapuram and Mangalore.

Kongu Global Forum Director J. Sathish said that there was a growing demand for operating a Vande Bharat Express from Coimbatore to Thiruvananthapuram via Palakkad, Ernakulam and Kottayam and another Vande Bharat Express train service to Mangalore via Palakkad, Shoranur, Kannur and Kozhikode. He expressed the hope that the demands would fructify.

Similarly, he also called for increasing the number of coaches of the Vande Bharat Express being operated from Coimbatore to Chennai and Coimbatore to Bengaluru. At present, these train services were being operated with eight car facility and as a result, the seats were fast filling up. He wanted the Southern Railway to consider augmenting the coaches of these two trains to 16.

He also called for reducing the running time of Vande Bharat Express to Bengaluru from the present 6 hours and 20 minutes to 5 hours and 30 minutes.
